I detected a tone from that interview of real conservatism in bringing Brown along and an opinion that Ibanez has a very good chance to play a fairly decent amount the rest of the year. My view is quite a bit different, if I heard correctly. I don’t see Dom being rushed up, but assuming rehab goes well (let’s leave well generic), I think they will definitely pursue a different rotation with that as first choice. Dom in RF, Ben in LF (I’m kinda assuming Bennie is a better LF than RF, and Brownie, not a polished defender at least has a great arm). Now if Brown doesn’t perform, well…let’s tackle that later. But it was my hearing that led me to think you are maybe as much as significantly misjudging how much time Raul has to get some production going. And I’m not sure the window of opportunity for Brown is as futuristic as it’s been if he doesn’t show well, but that’s getting ahead of things.
