Well big talk from Mets fans with just half through the season - there is plently of time for the wheels to fall off RA Dickey's knuckleball wagon, Big Pelf to return to earth (though I think he has improved but he's not Cy Pelfrey)and the second time thru the league - well the training wheels come off for Niese. While I wish the Phillies would take some pointer from the Mets ability to manufacture runs, you can't expect to small ball it all the way thru the season esp. if the aforementioned pitchers start to falter. Oh and I forgot Pagan's Icarus wings will also melt soon.

jake and paco, who's crying? Bill's just providing facts. The information is not intended to be an excuse of any sort. If the Phils don't win the division, it will be because the Mets or Braves were better this year.

Wow! That is almost considering getting somewhat near (sort of but not really) to what happened to the Mets last year. I remember the Phillies fans saying not to cry about it...

7 guys currently on the DL. I'm fearing the worst with Utley, hopefully he'll at least be back for a September run. Polanco to me is the key right now. With Utley most likely out for a while, Polanco gives us the extra flexibility to pick up a 2nd or 3rd baseman as Polanco can more than handle either position. We could take a flyer on Garrett Atkins (instant upgrade over Dobbs) or try to trade for Wiggington or Kelly Johnson
