My guess is that Moyer gets pulled, in part because of his contract (he's had 20 starts so far this season)

It was reported that these are some details on Moyer’s contract: He’s guaranteed no less than $13 million. He’ll make a base salary of $6.5 million 2009 and 2010. His 2010 salary can escalate to as much as $11 million based on innings pitched in ‘09 ($250,000 for 150 innings, $500,000 each for 160, 170, 180 and 190 innings) and starts in ‘09 ($250,000 for 23 starts, $500,000 each for 25, 27, 29 and 31 starts). Also, he can earn $250,000 performance bonuses each year for 150, 160, 170, 180 and 190 innings pitched.

Why pay Moyer when Lopes is on a roll?

I think the most likely scenario is that Martinez does get moved to the bullpen. I'll repost what I wrote at BBTF.

Now, the Phillies have a problem with way too many starters. Lee, Hamels, Blanton, Happ, Moyer, Martinez, and Lopez. Clearly, Lopez is the first odd man out. The Phils can probably flip him for a prospect. Martinez could go to the bullpen, especially since the first four aren't moving. Personally, I'd either attempt to convince Moyer to retire and stay with the team as some sort of an assistant, or move him to the bullpen, and try to flip Romero or Eyre for a prospect or two. Brett Myers is reportedly on his way back to the bullpen, so the Phils also have way too many relievers -- once everyone gets healthy.

So what's the Phils rotation gonna look like now? Hamels, Lee, Moyer, Happ, and Blanton?

Oops, good catch, the error has been fixed.

His K/9 was 6.9 last year and 6.3 this year.

Might be wishful thinking in the second to last paragraph: "He strikes out around 6-7 batters an inning..."

But still, fantastic deal!
