I suppose if he were playing in New York right now (carrying his current stats) they would be worshipping his name and blowing kisses from the stands.

It does suck that fans all over the world can't be positive. But when you start stereotyping and generalizing about any group of people, you're asking for it.

"So why the hell does it make any difference to you what he has to say?"

Because we are the paying customer. When you work for a business, you don't insult your customers. Simple as that. You can think what you want privately, but you need to act like a "professional." When you violate this simple rule, you face the consequences.

You're missing my point. Rollins, very likely, doesn't care at all about Philadelphia. He's not from Philadelphia; he only wound up here through blind luck. Philadelphia is just the place where he draws a paycheck. I swear I don't know why fans need to convince themselves that pro athletes love and care about them specifically. If Rollins wasn't in Philadelphia he'd be playing somewhere else and it wouldn't make any difference to him at all. So why the hell does it make any difference to you what he has to say?

My boss chewed me out yesterday. I had to take it. The money comes from the boss. We fans are the bosses. We call the shots. Rollins made more money the day he got lost in New York than I make all year. And he is crying about how unfair we are. Bite me, Rollins. Life is too short to worry about a hump like you.

I've been a proponent of trading Rollins for good starting pitching (or now, a good third baseman or outfielder) and bringing up Jason Donald.

To be a frontrunner, you have to be in front. When have the Phillies been in front since 1980? Sorry, last year brief stop and sweep in the playoffs does not count.

If Jimmy Rollins cannot hack or does not like the type of fan in Philly, or the Northeast in general, I wish the Phils would get him off the roster. I would rather root for players who can embrace the intense fans of Philly, and let Rollins play in front of the "rah rah" fans that he likes. If we lose more games, so be it.

Man, Phillies fans, and Philadelphia fans in general, are a thin-skinned bunch.

It's not about having thick or thin skin. I'd have no problem with Rollins' criticism if he had the justification for making his remarks. He lacks justification.

If Chase Utley had said what Rollins said, there'd be no argument.

Why should A's Fan show up when the team doesn't pay anyone? I'm an A's fan, and I wouldn't go see them right now. It's a minor league team with an MLB schedule, in a park most people don't like. Why again should they go?
