Ortiz has played first in the World Series and during interleague play, granted he's somewhat of a liability, but at the end of the day his offense will exceed his shortcomings. If they signed Bonds only to fill the void, which I doubt Bonds agree to from a financial standpoint, what good would he be to them? I don't see Bonds playing baseball this year, or for that matter ever again. For this year specifically because of his legal issues, not because of his potential to help a team.
