At BDD, I explain why instant replay is a great idea but it won’t solve the problem with home plate umpires.
The Drunk Jays Fans podcast is now up. Click here to listen to it. I come in a bit past the halfway point.

That was pretty good. I think I’ll do a podcast at some point. Some point being when I learn how to do it.
You were better than Will Leitch was on Costas. And I particularly enjoyed the question they asked you about Conlin. I was quoting Conlin before they finished asking the question.

Thanks. I used “Well” to preface my answers almost every time but I should be able to fix that in the future.
Do you have any constructive criticism to offer?

Ronald Reagan started every sentence with “well” so I wouldn’t be too worried about that.
Did they contact you with the questions they intended to ask in advance or was it off the cuff? It didn’t sound scripted, but for radio that might not be a bad idea. Being that you have to capture and maintain your audience without a visual is very important.
In fact, now that I think about it I know it wasn’t scripted because you didn’t recall the specifics of Conlin’s remarks.
Why don’t you take a crack at a podcast? What would be the pie in the sky obviously is getting a Phillie to give you five minutes.
More bloggers should think about doing this. Have a “guest” blogger on every week to help promote smaller sites instead of having the same “big” sites represent the blogosphere.

I don’t have the desire to host a podcast. They’re fun but take a lot of work.
They let me know the general area where they were going to go but the specific questions weren’t given prior.
