I wrote the piece in MBB, and stand by it. The biggest problem with the Internet is that anybody with a website can say anything. Who edits the material? No one!!!!!

It's not in bad taste. I am going to halt this conversation unless you can discuss this like a rational person. If you're offended by my comment, deal with it. Wear a helmet. it is commnets like this sexual innuendo that make MSM able to paint bloggers as non-professionals. Bill Conlin: "The only positive thing I can think of about Hitler’s time on earth–I’m sure he would have eliminated all bloggers." There's professionalism for you. MSM doesn't have any higher ground to stand on.

if you want to seriously discuss the issue, be serious. it is commnets like this sexual innuendo that make MSM able to paint bloggers as non-professionals.

I AGREE with you, but don’t approve of the part of the message cited. Take the compliment regarding the role of bloggers and stats, but take a dose of criticism for the part of the message that is in bad taste.

You’re focusing on an erroneous comment so you don’t have to seriously discuss the topic at hand.

Yes I will object. You disagree with someone who supports Chass and you can accuse his supporter of soliciting oral sex? You do not practice what you preach – “an objective discussion about the quality of his writing and the way he treats people who disagree with him.’ ”

You have a good point regarding Chass’ aversion to “Moneyball” and Bill James et al. – and I am now completely in your corner – why not stick with the facts as opposed to gay bashing a supporter of Chass?

Bob, if you’re going to blow raspberry at my response simply because of an oral sex response, I’m taking it that you simply don’t want to discuss this or don’t want to admit the possibility that you were wrong.

As I mentioned in the article, Chass is probably a decent guy. I’m in favor of unions and not bowing down to business myself (I’m a huge liberal) but it doesn’t count for anything when we’re objectively analyzing his writing and how he interacted with people who disagreed with him.

You were OK until you made a reference to oral sex and demeaned your article. I thought that if you disaagreed you were supposed to be tactful and argue the facts?

Chass was one of the few writers who gave a union viewpoint and dod not toady to management. With his departure and the death of Doug Pappas a few years ago, there is no reporter of stature to keep management on its toes and call them to task for their moral and economic peccadillos.
