A while back I thought I had invented a couple of simple and smart basketball stats. As it turned out, they were already out there...but hardly anybody uses or acknowledges them. I do believe you can get too caught up in the numbers. But for baseball, if you are analyzing the right numbers, it's the most predictable sport on the planet.
