		<description>I like the Lidge trade since Gillick addressed two needs with it. The pitching market is weak this off season and Mr. Gillick in effect, picked up a solid No. 2 starter in this transaction by moving Myers back into the rotation.

I think signing Romero was worthwhile. It&#039;s hard to view it as an overpayment because as a ground ball pitcher he has more value to the Phillies than most clubs because of the park.

He wouldn&#039;t be worth that much to the Mets, Giants, Dodgers, A&#039;s etc. since a fly ball pitcher has room to work--they don&#039;t have that in Philadelphia.

So far, so good. I wouldn&#039;t mind a better bat at third. If the Yankees retain A-Rod I wonder if Wilson Betemit might come available? I doubt Lowell is an option for Gillick because he&#039;s looking for four years. Besides, I think Rodriguez back to the Yankees will pressure Epstein to offer Lowell a fourth year.
